What's the Difference Between Coffee Roasts

Everyone likes their coffee differently roasted because of the different brewing flavor tasted when they sip that cup of energy. A little secret: the longer the coffee beans roast, the less caffeine your coffee has.

Light roasted coffees are usually carrying a light brown color. Of course, the beans are cooked for a shorter time and at a low temperature of about 350 to 410 degrees Fahrenheit. They tend to have a fruitier and brighter taste too! These are perfectly paired with sweet delectables such as delicious croissants and shortbread cookies. Your mouth should be salivating right now if you're a lover of light roast coffee.

On the other hand, medium roasted coffee carries a much more balanced flavor with medium amount of caffeine roasting between 400 to 430 degrees Fahrenheit. This coffee is a happy balance, it's not too strong and just slightly sweet. It's definitely brown and goes well with savory options for example delicious grilled cheese and wraps! I can just hear you medium roast lovers screaming at the top of your lungs. It really does sound like a lunchtime drinkable.

And lastly, the dark roasted coffees. Typically dark brown, really close to a blackened color and roasts to an average temperature of 430 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Sometimes, it'll have a bittersweet taste or a chocolaty flavor. For the dark roast rich and bold coffee drinkers, I suggest you eat some eggs, bacon and muffins to balance that agreeably darker flavour.

Oh, and I have another secret. Coffee is actually a fruit. I'm sure you didn't know that!
